Allocation of the new homes at Loudoun

You may have heard people in the local community saying that the new houses being built at Loudoun Square have already been allocated. This is incorrect and allocations will not start until April 2012.

The 13 new townhouses are due to be finished in April and will provide a mixture of three, four and six bedroom homes.

All of the homes will be allocated under Cardiff Community Housing Association’s (CCHA) allocation policy which provides homes to those in greatest need from the common housing waiting list. The waiting list is managed by Cardiff Council and is a register for housing with the council and other housing associations in the city.

The properties will be allocated to applicants on the common waiting list who have registered for the North Butetown area and who are in most housing need.

The allocation of these properties is expected to be completed in April. Offers will be made in writing and if you have not received an offer in writing by April then it is unlikely that you have been successful on this occasion.

CCHA are also building 48 flats at Loudoun Square which are due for completion in March 2013. Thirteen of these flats will be adapted for disabled persons and will be allocated via Cardiff Accessible Homes. For more information on the adapted flats please contact Cardiff Accessible Homes on (029) 20468408 or CAH@ccha.org.uk by email.
